Who Am I?

We had to tell about ourselves.  I had to think about me and what I look like.  Then write down the words and they are the clues.  We put them into a book so that other people can read them.  They have to think about what person it might be.  It is mystery to solve!!  It was hard to spell blond!!

Contractions.

I am learning to read and write contractions.  A contraction is when we take out some letters and we use an apostrophe.  This was easy for me because I was really fast at this.  Next time I would like to write harder ones.

My Holiday Writing.

I went on a special trip to Finland and Denmark with Dad.  When I came back to school I wrote a story about our trip.  Mrs Kerr let me choose a shape in Tagul and then we had to import the words.  We could change the colours.  We printed them out and put them up on our wall.  I think it looks the best!

Look At My Writing!

I am learning to write a recount of what I really enjoyed in the holidays.

First I drew my picture.

Then I told my story to Mrs Kerr and she wrote it down for me.
I copied the words under her writing.

My work looks amazing, wonderful, beautiful and cool!

Descriptive Words

We are learning to add interesting language to our story.

In Story Writing we have been brainstorming adjectives (describing words) and trying to use them in our stories to make our work sound more exciting.  Guy Fawkes gave us the opportunity to practise some of these words:

"Warm and cold are describing words", said Elias.

I am learning to use my word card

In Writing we have been learning to use our word card.  It has some words in the colourful boxes and these help us to write our story.  If we need to write a word that isn't on our card we can say the word slowly and write down the sounds we can hear instead.

"It is easy choosing what to write my story about", said Elias.

I am learning to form letters correctly

Everyday in class we practise writing an alphabet letter.  Sometimes writing the letters can be tricky but we are learning to show resilience by continuing to try.  Have a look at the letter "h" that I did all by myself:
